Rotimi Jacobs & Co., Legal Practitioners was established in 1997 with the resolve to provide qualitative legal services in adherence to international best practices. Our goal is providing innovative, competent, cost-effective and well-timed solutions to issues presented by clients. We render legal services to governments at various levels and their agencies, public and private companies, Nigerian and foreign investors and financial institutions.

Our firm is a leading light in several legal engagements across asset tracing, white-collar crime litigation, real estate, industrial relations, commercial transactions and litigation. Recently, we successfully handled — from the High Court up to the Supreme Court — a number of high-profile and sensitive cases including FRN v. Orji Uzor Kalu, FRN v. Jolly Nyame and FRN v. Joshua Dariye, in which former governors of Abia, Taraba and Plateau States were prosecuted and sentenced to several terms of imprisonment ranging from 10 to 12 years.

The firm has also prosecuted Mr. Tafa Balogun (former Inspector General of Police), Chief DSP Alamieseigha (former Governor of Bayelsa State), Dr. Lucky Igbinedion (former Governor of Edo State), FRN v. Alex Badeh and FRN v. Olubukola Saraki. We acted as counsel to the Federal Government in FGN v. AG, Delta State, in which Nigeria successfully claimed the $15 million bribe offered by James Ibori to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.

Principal Partner

Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN rose to Head of Gani Fawehinmi Chambers and served on the Editorial Board of the Nigerian Weekly Law Report before founding the firm in 1997. His practice spans financial fraud, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, litigation, real estate, corporate and general commercial law. He has acted for the Federal Government of Nigeria and for numerous large and medium-sized companies, and has represented the EFCC, FIRS, CBN, the Federal Ministry of Justice and other agencies in high-stakes matters.

Adebisi Adeniyi, Esq.

Called to the Bar in 2003, Adebisi Adeniyi is a senior lawyer in the firm with extensive experience prosecuting white-collar crime, asset tracing and banking fraud. He also advises on financial, corporate, dispute resolution, industrial relations, real estate and general commercial law, and has acted for the Federal Government in high-profile matters.

Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2009, Leke Atolagbe joined Rotimi Jacobs & Co. in 2012 and holds an LL.M from the University of Lagos. His practice includes white-collar crime, asset tracing, secured credit transactions, debt recovery, industrial relations, real estate, arbitration and general commercial law. In 2018 he was admitted as an Assistant to Counsel at the International Criminal Court and is a Notary Public and Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).

Called to the Nigerian Bar in 2008, Solomon Obafemi worked with Cheakley Chambers before joining Rotimi Jacobs & Co in 2018. His practice covers debt recovery, arbitration, corporate affairs, labour law, land/property regulation, civil litigation and criminal litigation.
